Can someone inform me of what and how a stroker kit works? I hear ppl saying they have this but I dont have a clue as to what it does. Thanks

a stroker kit is usualy a crank(longer stroke than stock), rods and pistons for a engine block you obeuosly allready have. some kits may be diiferent. example...
a 383cid small block chevy is a common and most popular stoker kit. what makes it a stroker motor is that they use another crank with a longer stroke. this one using a 400 small block crank(3.75 stroke), machining the mains down to fit inside a 350 block. then using the right connecting rod lenth and piston (compretion height) to make it fit and your all set.
Fords popular 393, using a 351W block, 400M crank (3.85 stroke) machined to fit inside the block, stock 351W rods and 302 pistons
Pontiac nerds use 400cid blocks with 3" mains, and machines their 455 cranks mains from 3.25 to 3.0 making it another 455cid but with smaller mains (?)... because v8 pontiacs are the same demention 326-455 there is no big or small block. making it a little more easier to switch cranks. mostly running a chevy rod(cost wise) and a custom piston they can get away with 500+ inches with an aftermarket crank.
you will probalby hear alot of people bragging about a 383 strokers and flash the word "stroker" in their own conversations 20 times. my opinion its just a small bore 400 small block (?).
but it a no brainer to build stroker when rebuilding a motor, even if its a chevy, parts are cheep and give it a few more years and cheerios might offer it with 100 proof of purchases GOOD LUCK
