I recently got a 1994 Camaro Z28 with ~96,000 miles on it, that had a 1999 LT1 motor put in it at 60,000 miles, the previous owner negelected to check the oil when the light came on bad for them, good for me lol. Anyways, this is the first manual I've ever driven, it seems like 90% of the friction point is in 10% of the pedal, if that makes sense. My Dad has driven manuals before and he said this clutch definatley has a small grab spot, you can feel it grabbing very gradually, but then it gets to a point and grabs very quickly. Is this normal, or can something be adjusted to change the freeplay?

mine just grabs and goes, no adjustment for the clutch. do you have a LT1 or LS1? 99 would be a LS1

it probably just grabs up top. the "speed" at which is grabs is dependant on your style and the plate pressure. It can feel a little odd if the clutch grabs way up at the top of the pedal travel but this isnt anything to worry about +1, no lt1 in 99
