My oil light pops on when I idle, or am decelerating. When I give it throttle, it dissapears. All I have right now is my idiot light, and who knows how incredibly low it has to be for it to come on. I dont have much experience with this situation, can anyone give me any tips, or things to check that arn''t completely obvious? I''m going to put a guage on it and see whats up. Thanks

Could be bad bearings, could also be a faulty oil sending unit. Putting in a mechanical oil gauge is a good idea, then there''s no question as to where the pressure is really at.

I feel really stupid...I cant belive I let the oil get that low, I had no idea I had a leak. I had checked it repeatedly when it was warm, and it said it was full. but, I checked it when it was bone cold and the oil wasn''t even on the stick. How does this happen?! Thank **** I checked it again. I never dreamed it would be completly empty, when it said it was perfectly full, right at the line when it was warm. I put 2 quarts in it, and its fine now. That was a horrow show waiting to happen. I''m going to be more careful when checking the oil. I was just careless  Thats a mistake I WONT make again.

Well, I was going to ask if you checked your oil, but I didn''t want to insult your intelligence. And that was an obvious one that I thought didn''t need asking!

Indeed, I had repeatedly checked it when it was warm. Repeatedly. That just blows my mind that it said it was perfectly full when it wasn''t even close.
