Well, I''ve finally talked ''the boss'' into letting me buy a new Camaro, however, with a 50 mile commute round trip...GM better consider having an Active Fuel Management option. With half the cylinders running, this should improve gas mileage significantly. And with talk about gas being $7 by 2010, I''m thinking it''s going to be necessary.

Has anyone heard about this being an option?

No. However are you talking about that thing GM has on one of its SUV where in the highway only 4 cylinders are turned on and the other 4 are off to save gas? Are you talking about that?

don''t worry too much about the $7 gas in 2010.. by that time the mess that started in our financial market in 2001 will have caught up and milk will also be $8 a gallon.. and the Euro will be the new currency the rest of the world wants (actually it already is).. expect things to get messy here in the US...

It''s funny how a car built in the 70''s-early 80''s could get 20+ miles per gallon.  A full size car with a V8!!  And yet with all of the technology we have to day and all of the advancements we get a full size car that weighs more than the steel cars made back then that get worse fuel milage??
