piss and moan, so I made a typo.

12k? Gimme that too, and I''''ll crush you and your silly 4 bangers. lol

im pretty sure that 12k on a 4 banger will go farther than on a v8. all you have to do for most imports is boost em up, and forge the crank assembly. for a v8, your looking at 1500 just for cams. now, unlimited money, or under 3k, then i''d deff say the v8.

hell. buy a frickan 2JZ-GE IS300 for 4000, build the block for 3000, and turbo it for 5000. or find a 2JZ-GTE.

for 12 grand, I could kill any 4 banger you throw at me, including buying the car.

Estimates:
Junk yard 454: $200
Junk yard powerglide: $200
Junk yard Ford rear: $200
Retired drag car: $4000
Parts to build 454, rebuild powerglide, gears for rear, traction bars, drag radials, used aluminum wheels, and other misc. parts: $7400

erm....

early 90''s civic hatchback - 1500
gut the car - free
H22, B18, or H20 motor - ~3000
Build the crank assembly, and port heads, etc. ~2500
Turbo Assembly/kit ~ 3000
Nitrous shot ~ 800
stock steelies with a DR - 500.

and the motors you buy usually come with LSDs and built trannys.

lol, least my car will run and not break in 5 minutes. If I wanted to risk it, I''d just throw a 250 wet shot on it, a 454 with the right connecting rods will handle that easy. Have you ever noticed that very few people drag race 4 bangers? They are fragile and break under extreme loads. And I think you would be surprised and the cars I could come up with. My uncle bought his 1500hp ranger from my great uncle''s estate for 10 grand. It''s run around 8.3 several times, and was built in the late 80''s. Still runs today, after about 20 years of racing. Point is, you''ll never race a 4 banger that long, using the same engine and trans.

you keep mixing up 4 banger and import.

a 2JZ motor WILL last that long. a Skyline motor(as much as i hate those cars) WILL last that long. a propperly built 4 banger motor can last that long. it all depends on the block you use. hell, excluding the price of my car, i''d throw some **** out there for you. look at some of GM''s new drag cars. 80% of them have 2.2L ecotecs with turbos bigger than the engine, and lasting 100s of runs.
