I have a 2000 z28 and sometimes i can hear this squeeking noise under the hood. Mostly it happens wen its cold outside or if it is raining/has rained. At first i thought it was an old worn out fan belt that may have been slippin'', but i got a new belt and it still does it. Any ideas?

idler pulley, or tensioner pulley, start by spraying some wd40 on one pulley while the engine is off, then start it to see if it went away, keep doing that until you find which pulley it is.

Or it could also be your A/C clutch.

Could be a vac leak, I had a similar noise before when one of my PCV hoses got a crack in it.

i think it might have something to do with my a/c cuz, when i cut it on, the squeeking gets more intense.

Does the squeak go away once you hit 130+ mph?

lol, i sprayed wd-40 on my pullies and it got worse and lasted for a while, so i have no clue . And strangely enough it does go away after 130.

if it got worse with the wd-40 then i would say its the belt slipping?
