I''''m looking to buy my first z28 or ss. But I want to know the breakdown between the 2. What is better to buy and why? What is the difference between the two?

the SS was only a minor suspension and appearance package. I believe you also get an slp catback. overall there is no measurable power difference between the two cars. in fact, the world record run was done on a Z, not an ss

You''ll probably end up paying a lot more for the SS, just because of the badge...check to see if its a real SS though.

the SS just has the RAM air hood, the different spoiler, and different suspension i believe. some say the SS makes more HP than the Z, maybe only about 5 due to the hood, maybe not even that. and SS''s arent much more than Z''s, i paid 12k for my 2002 SS, with 20k original miles, it also had flowmaster catback, and brembo drilled and slotted rotors. but maybe i just got lucky.

^^^Where the F do you live? That''s a damn good deal. I''d love to find something like that. but ya, what they said. I''m planning on buying a Z28, and putting the SS hood on it.

from what i have seen, you may ass well buy a z and spend what you save on buying the ss and get aftermarket exhaust and all that. looking at local prices for around 94-96, z28''s go for around 3-6k, most ss''s i have seen are 9 or 10. if i wanted to pay 3 grand for a badge, i would have just bought a civic lol
