So I recently purchased a ''79 Camaro Ralleysport, beautiful car!  Has a new 350 I put in that only has about 3500 miles on it, so very new.  Recently I replaced all the spark plugs and wiring because it was running really rich and some of the cords were cracking. When I took the plugs off they were covered in burned black oil so I know I have a problem with my carb. but now after I replaced the spark plugs and wiring I can''t get it to idle easy or when I press on the accel. it dies.... any thoughts and help would be great.

If you''re getting black crusty oil build up on the plugs, it''s an oil issue...worn valve guides and/or rings.
But if the plugs had more of a black soot instead of crusty crap, then it''s a rich carb.
For your running problem, double check your plug wires against the firing order. You could have accidentally crossed a couple of wires when you changed them. Firing order 1-8-4-3-6-5-7-2 should be cast onto the intake manifold, and the distributor rotates clockwise.

Thanks for the reply and I checked it does have that cast into the block. I also thought maybe I had the choke high or something could that be the problem too?  When I pulled those plugs they were black and a little wet and I think I have the wires on in the correct firing order, is there something I can check it against??

When you changed the wires, did you do one at a time or all at once? They can be in the correct firing order, but off by one terminal on the dist. cap.
