I like serpintine. But even the V belts used accesory holes on the heads unless it was real early.

There is no casting material there to make all the holes. You can look at the heads in your car now and see the extra material that is machined flat.

From what I understand, you could drill out the heads, but you might have to shim out your mounting points since the heads don''t have the raised mounting bosses. I would check with an engine machine shop first to see what you can get away with.

And from the lack of mounting holes, I''m gonna say those heads are pre-1968 vintage. When you have the valve covers off, take down the casting #''s and look them up.

figured it out
found a bracket on summit that bolts to the block and should clear my gear box
same for the alternator bolts to block on pass side.
after some research (and a few trips to autozone) i found out its actually from a 1970 impala
short water pump (yessss!) everything "should" line up now.
picked up a new waterpump PS pump and oil pump w/screen for around $100

now for painting...
im thinking a gloss black.

also whats with the 2 pipes for coolant on the manifold the pump only has one.
on the 305 the pipe on the pump is plugged?

one pipe goes to the water pump and the pipe to the side goes to the heater core
