I looked at a 1985 Camaro Z28 305 auto with a 4 barrel on it. And when you idle the choke light came on and when you floored it got a little hesitant, but the choke light would come off once the car was accelerating. Is this a serious issue to keep tabs on? I''m serious about getting this car, but I want to make sure I''m not into a money pit. And that aside, the headliner needs replacement, are those expensive to have done? Thanks for all your help!

The choke light may be coming on due to a bad alternator. I had a belt fly off my 84 Z28 and my first indication that there was a problem with the charging was I saw the choke light suddenly come on. Then the heat started to rise fast. Then the volts started to get low. Then I looked back and saw the belt in the road. The choke runs off the alt so it only gets power while the engine is running. That way it will not open with just the key on.
