So here I am, driving down Melrose St. and there''''''''s a few drivers ahead of me going to make a right turn (I was in the right most lane) and I was still heading straight (I needed to make the next right) and all of a sudden, I hear a horn (from in front of me), I see lights and it just happened so fast, I couldn''''''''t react fast enough, so I hit a nice black BMW M3 in his left rear light with my front right. Instantly I''''''''m thinking OH **** OH **** (''''''''cause the turn was going into the Vista Court House...and when you see a man in a dress shirt in a BMW M3, most will think, OH **** LAWYER). So I follow him into the parking lot still thinking "oh ****" and we park. We get out and i notice he''''''''s big and tall (I''''''''m 6'''''''')and I say "OH MAN IM SO SORRY" and instantly he says "It''''''''s ok, don''''''''t worry about it, The person in front of me, stopped for no reason, I''''''''m a lawyer and we might be able to get this on her" (or something of the sort). So we go to her car (who also happened to park in the same parking lot area, with no idea what happened behind her. He starts talking, trying to gather her info and she kept replying with "I did nothing wrong! I didn''''''''t hit anyone, I didn''''''''t get hit, blah blah blah" and he still kept trying to get info and she kept giving the same excuses until an Officer from the court house comes out, she give him the info...the car is a rental from Enterprise and the Lawyer has a feeling that they won''''''''t do anything about it with their insurance and all that jazz. We get info and he tells me he''''''''s gonna call MY insurance and let them know what''''''''s up (I''''''''ve already called my insurance company...which took FOREVER). The damage done to me made it so I can''''''''t turn my wheel left, but damage to him M3 was...broken light...bent a bit on the side of the light...metal vs fiberglass (or whatever nearly half of the camaro''''''''s body work is made of) = metal wins. I had my car towed to my dad''''''''s car repair for body work and all that jazz. Well...there are some positives...I needed a new right front turn signal and a new front bumper anyways.
And I took pictures!

It could have been alot worse.  Atleast no one got hurt and there is minor damage to the cars.

That sucks bud. Glad you''re okay. Now you have a reason to get rid of those foggy headlights too.

Yeah, fortunately, no one was hurt. The only people who flipped out was the lady the lawyer was trying to get info from and my mom. Yeah Stang, I was thinking about getting new headlights anyways, that, or getting that stuff to clean them.

I don''t know why the lawyer was pressing the woman for information, other than the fact that he''s a lawyer. Makes no difference how quickly the person in front of you stops. If you hit them it''s considered driving too fast for conditions, and the person doing the rear-ending is at fault. I don''t blame her at all, the simple fact is she wasn''t involved in the crash.

+1 to 69.  you are not responsible for the road behind you, only the road infront of you.  she wasnt even damaged, she had no reason to give any information.  you first have to prove she was even involved and with no damage ur going to ahve a problem doing that

You would be responsible for the road behind you if you were to drop something that causes damage or a crash behind you, like when a Ford engine scatters!
