Some places around here are selling CPO (Certified Pre-owned) and used  S197s for 16-20K. But if hes gonna get a mustang it has to be new edge or s197 if he wants power. and if he wants to look decent but cant get an s197 then a later model New Edge like a 2002-04.

Well lets face it. this guy wants a mustang. his best bet (even if they only have 260hp) is getting a 99-04 to fit his price range. plus its mustang man... HUGE aftermarket.

Cobras are sweet!

I own 2005 GT 5-speed vert with 14,000 miles, and I hope I could get $20,000 for it.
Sold my 99 GT 5-speed vert with 60,000 miles 3 years ago for $10,000 and it was mint.

New Edge Cobras are sweet. The new shelby GT500 is a shame... 500hp on suspension rated for 300hp... Now the Roush 427R w/ Trak Pak is where its at. Roushcharged 435hp 400 torque with all the goodies needed to whip that thing around a road course like a finishline seeking missile.

sadly, i''ve beaten the new Roushcharged Mustang in an auto-x race, they aren''t all that good. (i tried driving his car in fun runs and couldn''t even match my time with my Camaro)

To the op, it''s gonna depend on his budget, what''s he got? I''d like to have a mustang someday, I actually like em quite a bit. Problem is, my family would kill me My uncles would buy ford truck for their frames, brand new, and pull the engine out and put a big block in. But that was in the 80''s
