The off shore drilling ban was lifted and what happened? $.25 drop in price in a week, and the Middle east dropped their prices and we haven''t even drilled yet. I hate to bring politics into this but the dems are now changing their view on drilling why? becuase its hurting them glad they stick to there guns.

For those of you still paying high prices 1. your state taxs, thats why California pays more then Arizona for the same gas. 2. if you live in a rural area there is no competition to drive lower prices.

Also I don''t want to hear this crap about the evil oil companys with there huge profits and making billions... because its a lie. The oil company makes a small percent on each gallon, the government makes the same amount as the oil company, which is about 7-8%, compared to other industrys like computers who make 280% on each sale, Soda (pepsi and coke) 400% Bubble gum 460% or Dimonds who make 1000%. So next time you hear about how much the oil industry is makeing remeber how much money gates has.

The reason the gas prices are high has nothing to do with the oil companys. one it has to do with the lack of refineries here in the US and the second is it also has to do with those idiot on the exchange betting on the future of oil. You are right about the oil companys profits they don''t make near as much profit as other company''s. as far as california is concerned it is the additives that they require that makes the gas price higher than most states

We all use the same gas but it is an additive that Califonia requires to help with pollution or something like that for example Chevron stations use techron or Shell stations use V-power as an additive not sure what the differance is they are just additives. Nice ride by the way
