just because a car is 20 years old doesnt mean it will have problems, i see cars that are only a few years old with problems, its all how the car is kept up

depends which engine you get 305 tpi/tbi 350 tbi/tpi

but dont expect great fuel mileage with these

and why not just wait till you get the one you want, seems like a waste of time and money buying a camaro and getting a t/a later down the road...

ya, because 3rd gens really suck down gas

i was getting around 23-25 in town with a CARBED 350.  a TPI/TBI is going to do better on gas than a carb motor is

and Spartan, that car could be a 350 because the 350 only came with the 700R4 behind it.

and whoever said the 350 was rated at 225 is wrong.  they were rated at 245hp

why am i not surprised spartan is thinking bout buying something else?  i don''t get why people know what they want, but spend money on something else in the meantime that only gets them farther from their goal.  i understand you needed a vehicle, and you got a blazer.  solid vehicle if you take care of it.  i understand that you want a v8.  you won''t have it when you''re at basic anyway so what''s the rush?  WAIT!  hell i want a 67 camaro ss convertible to match my 97, but i''ll be waiting to do that for a while.  save your money for something you REALLY want, not something you want today

well it depends what 350 youre talking about, the onlt 350 that was rated at 245 was The RPO B2L

but its hard to find one of those as it is, most 3rd gens for sale are the plane jane 305 that was rated at 170hp though ive seen those dyno anywhere from 109hp to 140hp if youre lucky, and the plane jane 350 most have dont do much better

It really depends on the year of the car, as well as the intake and such- I''ve got a TPI 305 that runs at 215- but a 91 TPI 305 would go at 225 or 230. Just ''cause it''s the same generation doesn''t mean it performs the same from year to year ;)

Yeah, im just gonna wait it out. I think im gonna sell the blazer now, put what i get into savings spare myself the gas and insurance bills and just take the bus or ride a bike to work until october. Pay my dad back the 1300 i still owe him for helping me get my camaro fixed and then ill have some good coinage already by the time i start getting paid by the army ill have more than enough for that T/A.

not far however i live on a plateau... so getting to work wont be bad but coming home after 7 or 9pm wont be easy on a bike lol. But latest news it that my bro might sell me his vert 325I BMW for $1000. Now it may be a 1989 but ive seen it, ive looked under the hood for him, i went with him for an oil change, i drove it on the free way and even some back country roads and its in pretty good shape. So sell the blazer, pay my dad back, buy the BMW put the rest in savings and wait til october. I know it seems odd, but im in a bit of a financial crunch atm. People just havent been buying cars so my dealership is cutting hours and i went from working mon, tues, thurs, fri, sat to working thurs, fri and doing dealer trades on the side (i deliever cars to other dealerships for a flat rate depending on distance). Im also looking for another job to add to this one. Long story short i need money and selling the blazer is basically the only thing short of taking out a loan i can do.

Alright, I''m late into this, and I aint reading all of it. But spartan, just keep your head on straight and make good choice on whatever car you get. Don''t rush anything, you might regret it.
