Hey, im 15 and i gotta 87 z28, its got a pretty much stock 305, i just put high performance wires and plugs on it, and high output moduel and rotorcap. I sold my dirtbike for 750$ and now i need some tips to get more hp with hurting my lowerend. so if you could give me some tips to do to my 305 for around 700$ that would be GREAT.

thanks, Cole M

my nephew is in the same position as you are.  he has an 88 formula.  your z28 probally has 2.73 gears in the rear end if it is an automatic.  i would use the money to put 3.55 or 3.73''''s in.  it will give you the biggest seat of the pants increase.  after that, i would put an exhaust.  putting a 350 in place of the 305 will be a cheaper increase for power than trying to get more power out of the 305.  You will probally only be able to get the gears for $750, but now you know what you have to save money for.

Here is a good site for 3rd gen specs
