I''ve never had a subwoofer in a car before, so I figured that I should give it a try. My camaro had that jbl amp in it when I got it, so I built a box yesterday, and got some carpet, glue, and the speaker from walmart for a total of about $60. I know squat about sound systems, but the box is sealed nice, and there should be enough air space for that 10". I''m not a radio nut, so this setup is just fine for my purposes. It does vibrate the mirrors though, kinda fun to listen to

The two metal strips are out of my old 79 Jeep. They look ok on there if you ask me.

Not bad looking. Like you I''m not much for big sound systems.

Thanks stan. I wonder how I can turn the woofer down, my mirrors keep moving, and it makes my chest feel funny.  I think it''s too much for my taste, lol

The amps I have had in the past, had a gain adjustment on them. You might check for one on yours.

DAMN very impressive for somebody who says they have no experience with car audio, Ive never had experience with jbl but i do know sony sucks, but hey you said its to loud for you so it might be just right. I have a couple questions about the amp
1. Can you tell me the model number
2. Is the amp bridgeable
3. Is it setup in mono as it should be if it is bridgeable.

Now if you want to turn the bass down then just adjust it with your HU or set the gain lower like 02StanGT suggested. But if i where id take great pleasure in showing of that fancy box of yours it adds a certain look like you really care about your car which im sure you do. Il post a vid here soon of my finished box. Mines gonna sit up higher because i need alot more room for my subs.

For my amp, go here, and select the BP150.1 model.

Should be the left of the three dials, after looking at the instructions.
