    After spendin a day or so looking at my tranny and trying variouse ways to get it apart (pull harder didnt work lol) I finally figured out you have to disengage the fork like you guys above me posted.  I was going to come back and update this thread incase anyone had the same problem later down the road but some of you have already done it for me :)

I had a problem similar to this when I was replacing the clutch on my last camaro.  the pilot bushing is an EXACT fit, by that i mean it fits very snug.  we had trouble getting it out and getting it back in.  if what these guys said doesn''t work, try getting a lady foot on either side of the bell housing and pulling straight back, that''s what I had to do with mine.  lucky you the damn thing isn''t in the car, mine was a pain getting off cuz it was still underneath.
