Alright guys i managed to get the engine out of the car with the tranny attached.  Now i have run into a problem seperating them.  Do i have to push the clutch in or something?  I have all of the bolts removed and it will come off of the engine about a inch or so but wont come all the way off, i thought that they would just come apart after removing the bolts.

That might be it but I wanted to make sure I didnt need to do anything wit hthe clutch like compressing it.  The engine is still on the engine hoist and my dad and I spent the last hour playing tug o war with it.  Maybe a pry bar?

The clutch shouldn''t need to be depressed. The input shaft is probably being stubborn and stuck in there. Can you look in there to see if anything is hung up for some reason?

I can see down inside of it, doesnt look like there is anything obviouse holding it in place but then again I wouldnt really know what to look for if there was something there.  Ill try cranking on it again tomarrow and see how it goes.

My only advice: Make sure you''re separating it equally on all sides, if you start to pivot the transmission and not the motor you''ll get torque on the bolts and you won''t be able to slide it, so go straight back. If you''re already doing that...pull harder.

I hope you released the clutch fork. If not, your situation will happen; all bolts off but will only seperate about an inch or so while pulling straight back. If you haven''t, and it won''''t come loose on it''s own, you need to pull down on the clutch fork. There''s an indenture on the bottom of the clutch fork that you need to push in, then down to get it unhooked from the throwout bearing. This is assuming you unbolted your slave cylinder along with the spacer, or else you won''''t even see the clutch fork.

unbolt the bell housing from the trans, pull back the trans, look inside at the clutch fork, 13mm box end wrench, thats whats holding you back.
