How's it going, I just signed up here and decided to say something about my car. It's a 1978 Camaro that I am currently restoring with my dad. So far we are finished replacing the suspension, All the body work and paint has beendone by us. Currently we are trying to finish up the interior along with getting the new hood painted. We just got the motor back from the machine shop and are trying to figure out how much power we want to get out of it(but most likely it's gonna have a strong bottom end with a 2 stage nitrous setup

).

Welcome, Looks good, Is that the harwood or Goodmark hood ? I need to get one but it has to be at least 3 3/4" so that leaves out the goodmark hood. What size Motor is going in?

It's the Harwood hood. If I remember correctly it has a 4 inch cowl. It's a very high quality hood, I would definitely recommend buying it.

As for the engine it's going to be a 350 bored .030 over. And alot of work has been done to the heads. It's just missing internals and a nice crank.

Is that the bolt on, if so does it really bolt on (with the light springs) or will it need a kit. I was looking at harwood and unlimited products. The L88 style looks good bit only has a 3 1/4 cowl , Mine has a 454 in it so if I want a real air cleaner I'll need room. I heard the fit and finish of the Harwoods is perfect. If so Than it would be an easy choise, Thanks

Yeah it's a direct bolt on steel hood. It will work fine with the stock hood springs, and the cowl area is fairly big so a decently sized air cleaner. Also the cowl opening on the back has a thick mesh attached to it so trash won't get into your engine bay.

I have the hood sitting on some stands in the shop. If you would like some pics I could post some up.

No need for pick's, I'll take your word for it. I thought it was the fiberglass hood, The steel ones look alot better and fit great. Thanks for all the info.
