well today i was out driving up here in milwaukee, t-tops off, awesome day. I see a whats looked like an 85 corvette coming up on my right lane. I wasnt going to do anything, cause i know i have a stock 3.8 auto. but low and behold we get a red light, and i dont know if he was hammering it, or just accelerating faster than normal? anyone have any ideas? i dont think mine car could catch something like that, but i dont want to be all cocky and stuff. let me know on your ideas guys

WHAT!!??!! An 85 Vette is a slug they had Cross Fire injection which was a terrible system, I don't think your V6 would take it, but it might be close. A stock LT1 Camaro would beat it and a stock LS1 would embarrass it.

Be realistic here. Ive owned alot of Fast cars. and i mean FAST camaros. stop with the v6 talk, because im getting tired of it. the vette is chevy's pinnacle of performance and a STOCK camaro would not beat a stock vette. so stop dreaming

OMG, are you playing around or are you really serious. I said I don't think the V6 would take the 85 Vette, but if you think an 85 Vette would even be remotly close to an LT1 or LS1 car you need to research it alittle more. I don't care if the Vette is the pinniacle of GM performance you are comparing a 20 year smog motor to one of the most advanced push rod motors of all time(the LS1). Answer me this what was GM's fastest accelerating car in 1986 and 1987????? Hint it was not made by Chevy.

not really, because dont forget, GM is in the business to move cars, not please everyone. they probably sold more V6 camaros than V8's because the gas usuage, etc. plus a V6 camaro had a much more appealing price tag. to GM, its all about selling cars to the masses. the even put 4 bangers in camaros at one point.
