I really don't think it'll make a big difference, but I'm looking to see if someone else has another opinion. Alright I have a 355, approx. 365 Hp, Edelbock air gap intake, and a lil head work done. The compression is 9:1. cam has 234/244 duration 488/510 lift. Right now i have a 600cfm double pumper on it. What difference would it make to put a 650cfm on it? I think 700 is to big, but any suggestions will be appriciated, Thanks

You can find the formula to calc the size of carb you need for the engine you have online. Google for it. I doubt you are going to go too big with a 700cfm, but find the calc formula for it anyway. It will certainly help you narrow it down a large amount. If the value you get is in between the sizes then upsize to the next larger unit. This is a generally accepted formula, and I had to find it....sorry for the delay. VE = (displacement x rpm)/3,456 This is the article I foudn it in, and you might want to read this. The test involved a reasonable street engine, and carbs ranging from a 390cfm to a 1000cfm. Pretty interesting stuff, even if I have made all these mistakes years ago.....lol. http://www.chevyhiperformance.com/techarticles/148_0403_seven_holley_carbs_test/ Good luck!!!! Doc

I've run a 750 single pumper holley on a stock 9:5:1 compresson 350's and a 350 350 horse, to a 350 horese 396 and they worked well for all of them with the same cfm. I like 750's because they put even 850's on 302's and 750's on 70' z/28s factory so they worked well for me. Is that 9:1:1 compression origianal? If so it was probibly a smogger motor.
