it would be close, it would probably depend on who's the better driver and if the stang has any mods, good luck though, put im in his place.

ehh, like he said, can depend on a couple of things. But you never know till you race the person. Some kid at my school has a cobra and my friend beat him with a 18psi Civic. But all i can do is leave you with these words. Mustangs are like tampons every pussy needs one

If you got an auto and he has a stick then he will win. Easy you dumb ass the civic has 18psi that thing will rule you out of the game also with out hesitation. What kind of car you got?

Put your Z/28 on a drag radial and you will win.

so you think that an LT1 auto...with DRs...will beat a 96 cobra, 5 speed....because of the DRs? a 96 cobra should get into the 13s....13.60 or so? do you think that the auto LT1 with DRs will run mid 13s?

Yes I do, as my LT1 Z28 went 14.0 spinning through first, also a stock 96 cobra will have a hard time hitting 13.8 much less a 13.6.

the gutted cat is essential...

but seriously..i thought that that gen cobra was rated as closer to mid 13s...im not saying that the LT1 isnt capable of beating the cobra, i woudl just think that the cobra would have a defined advantage on the strip, provided a good driver.

The stock 96 Cobras are actually pretty slow, they run low 14's on average. Now through a blower on and that little 4v motor really comes alive, but thats another topic.
