I have only one question. if some of you say that the cobra is better and others say that the Z28 is bettter than why the hell did i see my buddies 96 Z28 stock camaro beat a Saleen Mustang with a lot more **** under the hood? just wondering...and for whoever said that they don't make the camaro anymore just wait until the Gen 5 comes out my friend. then all you'll be seeing is brake lights...

alot of people dont understand is its really not fair to compare an 02 ls1 or an (lt1 for that matter, its rediculous) to an 04 cobra. reason being ford has 2 more years of improvements and adjustements in the making. wait till the camaro is back in production along with the challenger. The mustang will be riding in the back of the pack. http://www.geocities.com/MotorCity/7966/2009CamaroSurveySmall.pdf unofficial camaro model options. if this becomes reality, ford fans will be very upset.

Just because a car is fast doesn't mean the driver knows how to drive. And the whole saleen thing, what year Saleen was this. Cause if it was a 96-98 Saleen, its not gonna be fast at all. What people dont understand about saleens is that they are stock motor wise unless you get the S281 Extreme. Base model Saleens are looks and suspension. So if it was just an S281, its only gonna put down 200 to the wheels if that. The 99-04's prolly 230 to the wheels. And the two years ahead thing, the 96-04 Cobra motors are basically a 93 Mark 8 motor with revised heads, cams, and bottem ends throughout the years. Chevy has just decided to keep putting 2 valve pushrod motors in their cars.

an s281 saleen doesnt have a base mustang motor, in addition it has 351 heads, such as the 94-95 cobra's as for the 03/04 cobra's yea, they are quick stock, but not that much faster than a stock LS1 and as for people dogging on LT1's shut your mouth, a strong running stock LT1 will take most stangs from 80's to 05's, hell with a couple minor bolt on's,and a 2800stall i was at 12.98 , now my best 1/4 time to date is 12.01 on a light launch, with a total of aprx 8K invested.

first off all you guys saying its unfair to compare a 03/04 Cobra to your LT1's because of the time span in years. And how ford had time to improve their design yadah, yadah, yadah. Can just shut it. You guys brag all the time about beating foxbody's. A platform that started in '79. Not to mention the fox gives up 48 cubic inches. And I'll be the first to admit the intake/head design sucked. Didn't flow as well as your heads from the factory. They were very restrictive. Known for choking under boost or at high rpm's. Yet you throw a set of gear in a stock fox. And standby and watch it wax LT1's until the t5 can't take it anymore. And your drivetrain's arent built as good as ours are. Our car's can handle a lot of abuse before something goes boom. All that at a very cheap price. And if/when they do make a gen 5 Camaro. I hope Chevy builds it on a sturdier platform than the crappier four. I'm not foxbody's are the baddest thing on the street.....but bang for buck. You can't beat em. Cheap go fast..........

I wouldn't brag about spending 8k just to get into the 12's. You can do that with a set of gears and some exlporer heads/intake on a mustang. The best part is. You can find all the parts to get a fox into 12's in a junkyard. For 8k, you could probably buy and build a 10 sec fox.

your wrong about the saleens, trust me, I own a Mustang and I know everything about Mustangs. Your wrong about the "351 Heads" on a Saleen. 94-95 Saleens had a stock 5.0 H.O., unless its a S351 which then came with a 351. And the heads you are claim are 351 heads are actually GT40's that came on 93 Cobras and 96-99 Explorers, so your wrong again. Let the Mustang knowledge be handled by the pros. STANGNET FTW.

Buy a fox Bought my car 100% stock for 3100 put exhaust on it and ran 14.2. Not bad for a car that puts about 215 to the wheels in that form. Last summer I bought gt40 heads for 525, an explorer intake for 175, and got a spec stage two clutch and an E303 cam for about 250 bucks. I also picked up a 3.73 rear for 200 bucks. And it now runs mid 13's maybe high twelves with a sticky slick launch. So thats basically a mid to low 13 second car for about 5000. Whoopdy doo 12s for 8 grand. Slap a set of AFR 165's on my car and hello low 12's.
