I have a moded LT1 (heads, cam, headers, cold air, tuning, cat back, etc). My question is how can I compete with the 02-03 Cobras? My car runs like a bat out of hell but with minor mods on the Cobras can run 440 hp according to the ford guys. Easy to do with a sc but that is how Ford gave the mustang the advantage over our current LS1/LT1`s. I haven`t dynoed my car so I don`t know what numbers it will put out. I don`t have the cash to run a turbo or sc. When it comes down to it it`s bragging rights at the track and I want to be able to defend the LT1/LS1. Just want to see what you guys think.

just so you know, there is no such thing as a 02 cobra.  when it was in a poduction, it was slow as balls.  so ford decided not to make it.  that is why when the 03 and 04 came out, they had the supercharger.  the 02 sucked so much it never saw a production line.  i am not a mustang fan but all my friends are.  thats the only reason i know.. just letting you guys know that

Nope, they are fast, even stock.

Then if they just throw on some pullies, they can gain like 30hp w/ the SC

I didn't know that either. Yeah they are quick. What was so wrong with the engine that they didn't produce the 02 model?

A heads cam and fully bolt on LT1 can get around 450 to the flywheel. From that point, the most cost effective things you can do are:

* raise the cubes with a stroker kit

*spray it with 100 shot

*Get a supercharger of your own

this is assuming you have heads to go with your cam and all supporting stuff then just spray it and call it a day. don't forget that once you get in that range, unlike the fords, your rear end will go bye bye.

So let me get this straight. Your saying that a Cobra can get 500hp from pullies and bolt on's? You go from a base rating of 390hp and get another 110hp from a smaller pully and bolt on's? Amazing!!!! (BS)

first of all 390 is underratted, so terminators dyno around 375rwhp stock, then u got intake, pulley, exhaust, s/c port and you'll be around 500rwhp....if you dont believe me go to svtperformance and go see for yourself, do some research before posting

and i didnt mean 500hp...i meant 500RWHP.....go ahead, think what you want, we'll see people agree with you or me
