yeah really...i owned a 89 5.0LX 5spd...and it was a dog. friend of mine had a 90 Cavalier Z24 with a 3.1V6 and 5spd....that Cavy would run door to door with the 5.0 from a roll...the LX would jump the Cavy off the line becuase the Cavy would blister the front tires through 1st and 2nd (weight transfers to rear, front spins) but all in all the 5.0 cars were dogs...

Whats the year and is it GT or LX is it coupe or Fox body. Is is stock or moded. most factory 5.0's run mid to high 14s and some of the crapy years 94-95 run low 15s.

wouldnt a mustang with the 5.0 beat an lt1 ? if both were stock

Not a snow balls chance in hell. The 5.0 comes off the line around 200 WHP give or take 10 horses. And most of them run in the low to mid 15 range.

I''ve kept up with a stock 5.slow on the streets .
He may have had an exhaust, but nothing special.

Stock for stock a 3.8 and a 5.0 would be a really close race.
