okay. heres the deal, ive got an 88 camaro with a 2.8L v6. the engine idles smoothly and at high speeds runs smoothly.. but on hard accelertaion it will bog and shake and i will go nowhere!!. ive changed spark plugs, wires, fuel filter. I have no cat so it cant be clogged. when the engine is cold ( say sitting for 5 hrs) it will run strong and wont bog out on me.. but once it heats up( a min or two) the accleration will drop and the old problems will resume. Ive asked others and theyve suggested fuel filter, change cat etc. IM STUCK and dont know waht to do next!!

any info or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!! thanks guys

If it sicarbed it is probably a carb problem. If it is injected, it appears that it runs bad when it goes into closed loop. Probably one of the sensors. Is the check engine lite coming on?

yeah its a multi port injection. the light  isnt on, but the guy before me might have took it out for selling, also there is no OBD of any kind. the plug in is there but no signal comes out of it. he might have monkeyd with things.

Does a check engine light come on as you first turn the key on? Have you used a code reader or paper clip in the a+b on the data link connector?

no, only lights that come on are parking break and seatbelts when i turn it on. Ive used a code reader and the a+b on the data link.

No light. Either its burned out or like you say monkeyed! The code reader has a screen and does it show code 12? This should always come up when its in diagnostic mode.

well we stuck the code reader in and nothing came up at all. we had the right chip for it and all that jazz but when we would go to read codes it would say please turn on your ignition etc. and we even turned the engine on and tried live diagnostics but it was like the plug was completely dead. so i guess the plug is a dud and goes to nothing maybe. and when we jumped the a+b connectors with a cotter pin, no dash lights came up whatsoever.

There is a light driver. Its in a small odd shaped box about the size of a match box near the computer. Its for the Check engine light but I am not sure as to how it works. Never had problems with any. It may be damaged though

Reecedawg, is the code reader you're using the simple plug-in type or with a built in display screen? If your check eng. light in the dash isn't working then the basic plug in with no screen won't do you any good.  I had a similar problem last year with my 88 2.8 with stumbling on acceleration. It was the mass air sensor but my check eng. is working. Try driving the vehicle with the MAF unplugged, see if that makes a difference.
