hi i`m new to this community and i want to introduce myself...i`m 21, just got here in the USA / AZ from europe. A few days ago i bought a camaro v6 2.8 modell `86 with a stick! i thought the starter is defect, but strange things happen here. if we try to start the car regurlarly nuthin happens, not even a noise. if we push it and release the clutch gently nuthin happens either. but after we pushed the car we can start the car with the starter key. this is kind of strange when we drive a while and start the car right after we shut it off, it works perfectly! so is this a fuel problem or an ignition problem? or is it the starter after all? or are there many factors? thanks for your help!

How is the battery? Once it is running unplug the battery (while it is still running) and see what happens, if it dies you need a new alternator. You should check the battery first though.

just 4 u to know, i got the answere for my problem, maybe some of u may experience the same problem the starter and everything else were just fine. the only thing that did not work was a switch connected to the clutch, sum kind of safety switch. this switch was broken and in addition there wasn`t even a switch connected to it. to repair it it took us 97$ for die diagnose and 250$ to get it fixed....expensive for just a switch and a cable dont u think? do you always have to pay such high amounts of money just for a diagnose? in "old europe" i never heard of that stuff, diagnose is for free there.... anyway, i`m just happy to be drivin my muscle car soon!

Good to hear that your ride is back on the road. The cost sounds about right. They rape at the shops, just to hook up the machine to your car. Bought my own obd/obd2 reader, it helps with the codes and stuff. I also made friends with a local shop and they give me breaks on stuff like that.
