hey man, i just wanted to get your honest opinion, cause you seem to know as much about stereos as i do about diesels haha. i have a mtx thunder 400w amp (bridgeable to 1 ohm? i think) and two jl 10w0 subs.
i'm looking for a new head unit, and possibly an amp, i dont want to turf the subs cuz i got a wicked deal on them. i dont want tons of bass, just enough to get a decent thump, any suggestions? also what would you reccomend for components? thanks

Turf= Damage
Cuz= Relative/Slang for "Cousin"/ Because
Wicked= Good (maybe)
Thump= SPL or "Poundy McPounder-age"

Translation provided courtesy of Seight311
(Edit: why is Courtesy edited to 4 ****'s in this forum?)
(Edit 2, that word I typed is Court-esy, minus the - of course)

Think this is funny? Wait til you get a response from Hisss

Ya, what an a$$ (seight311). Thump can be described as when the music is loud and you feel your brain and throat pulse and your hair moves. When it is a wicked thump, you may have difficulty breathing and your heart will feel fluttery.

Why would I suggest you anything when you asked Hisss? Had I of you would have pulled that card and had that to bitch about instead of my response.

Too lazy or you still cant spell it?
Define good deal? Paid less than retail, or you paid a reasonable amount in terms of the actual performance of the driver?
No, thump is a terrible word to describe any sound coming from a speaker.

If you feel your brain pulsing, you may want to go to a hospital.
A wicked thump? So this is that one certain sound your seeking?

thump      /θʌmp/ Pronunciation Key - Show Spelled Pronunciation[thuhmp] Pronunciation Key - Show IPA Pronunciation,
–noun

1.
a blow with something thick and heavy, producing a dull sound; a heavy knock.

2.
the sound made by or as if by such a blow. –verb (used with object)

3.
to strike or beat with something thick and heavy, so as to produce a dull sound; pound.

4.
(of an object) to strike against (something) heavily and noisily.

5.
Informal. to thrash severely. –verb (used without object)

6.
to strike, beat, or fall heavily, with a dull sound.

7.
to walk with heavy steps; pound.

A dull sound, yeah I guess your right then, if you want dull sounding subwoofers. Thump is a perfect term. I can't think the last time I heard a soubwoofer knock, I thought, man that sounds great!

What's your price limit brotttttther?

You can't really reccomend a perfect componet set for someone; But I can name a few brands that are top notch and let you go to a local Car Audio retailer and ask them to hear those specific brands.

Turf, Cuz, Wicked, and Thump.

Seight, Brottttther, you can't do anything about it.
I have tried to reason with them. I have also tried explaining it to them nicely. I honestly don't know what else to say. These people just can't be reasoned with. I now know exactly how an inner city school teacher feels.
