Not sure about the suspension. Probably what Chevy would consider 'heavy duty'.....Heh, Chevy suspension was crap compared to Hemi suspension.

I certainly thought the 69 Z/28 suspension worked very well, at least on the one I bought in 69. It was one of the few stock cars I've ever driven that sideways on asphalt at 60-70 mph never felt like it was going to flip. Most hemi vehicles I ever drove from that era (belonging to friends) were extremely nose heavy and a bear to handle in anything other than straight line driving. The Z/28 from 69 was a great handling car that straightened out curves, that high revving 302 was just right for accelerating out of curves. Just some thoughts from a former 69 Z/28 owner that bought one new.

lol, 69 camaro and still isnt happy. lol. i just wish i could get one that nice. but if i had the money for that id have a 71 vette but take care of it, there are not very many left. beautiful car

i dont see why you dont just keep it a regular camaro like it is, just put some performance stuff in it if you want it to be fast

Yeah I had a 69 SS Camaro also. And the suspension for it was ok. But when I bought the 1970 SS with the high horse rat motor, the suspension was VERY crappy for handling that much horsepower. I read magazine articles from that time about guys putting on slicks and ripping out the pumpkin in the rear end or taking the whole rear end out of the car. Traction bars were a necessity, not an option!
My buddy's 440 six pack with Hemi suspension was MUCH better equipped to handle the ponies. And it didn't seem to handle all that bad, but not as good as the Chevy's I believe. Now my 69 Chevelle with a 396ci/350hp seemed to handle the power better, but I still ended up with traction bars on it also. But my 383 RoadRunner I never put any on....can't remember the year it was now, but it had the pop up sharks teeth scoop on the hood.

Ahh the good ol days......
