Hello guys, I need to replace my tires soon, and I was checking different brands. The manual and some internet sources say the widest tires that fit my car are 245/50-16. Has anyone tried 255s? will they fit on my stock rims (without cupping and wearing out abnormally)? I want to keep all 4 tires the same size so I won't have problems when the time comes to rotate them. thanks for your input!

you could go 255 in back without much of a problem but you really don't want to go in front with them because you will lose too much handling and rigidity to the tire compared to stock. plus, I don't know if they would fit in front anyway

yeah, I have my doubts about 255s in front, probably they will rub the inner fenders. Guess I'll stick to 245s. I'm trying to decide between the Yokohama AVS ES100 and some of the Kumho Ecstas, like the ASX, SPT or similar. I have checked hundreds of reviews and those seem to be good buys for the money. Nittos don't seem to last long and make noise, Falkens don't have too much traction and the good year F1s are a bit too expensive and I'm not sure how long they will last and I don't like much the BFG thread design. Anyone has positive comments about Fuzion or Hankook?

I bought Kumho Ecsta ASX 245/50-16 tires a few months ago. I love'm. I paid $80 a piece for them off of www.tirerack.com. We have a tirerack warehouse in our city so I just picked them up from there, so there was no shipping or retail markup.

ORIGINAL: 98ss4REAL u can fit 275's in the front just gotta have the right size rim... i would go 255's if u can for a lil more traction or just get 255's for the rear that would be good to... you've fit 275s in front? interesting I would like to see that, and I would also like to see a pic of the tires turned lock to lock

I just put on some 94' Vette wheels on my 94' Z28.. the tires are 275/40/17 all around. I can turn lock to lock without any rub at all. The Handling is a definite upgrade, and it looks MEAN. Ill post some pics if yall want, i painted The wheels black too, left the center cap silver. So yes, i know for a fact you can fit up to 275 wide tires on the front of a 4th gen.. Now i want to know if i can throw some 305's on the back? Anyone know if those will fit, im assuming with the right wheel they would.
