hii guys im new to this forum buh i have a 1986 2.8 liter fuel injected camaro...nd heres the thing...ill start the car and it wont idle...buh if i put a jumper in the box under the steering wheel the B+A one then itll idle and i loosened the distributor so i can mess with the timing because i think thats the problem buh ive had it timed and it keeps throwin it off.....and it all started wen i heard the engine backfire...now itll back fire on every rev....soo im stumped..can anybody please help me? thanx

yes the check engine light is on..... it turns on after like 2 mins. of running...the acceleration also bogs,it pops near mass air filter when reaching 3 rpm's.

You have to pull or flash the trouble codes (DTC) and it will point you to the trouble that the computer sees.
Flashing codes at DLC connector:
Turn key to OFF
Connect pins A & B together
Turn key ON, do not start engine
The MIL lite will flash code 12 three times (Flash, short pause, Flash Flash, long pause, repeat)
If there are any DTCs, they will now be flashed three times each, starting with the lowest number to the highest.
When all the codes have been flashed, the MIL lite will flash code 12 again, indicating that all codes have been flashed.
Now you need a chart to tell you what each code meant.
